Apple introduces an exciting new iPhone every year and its most successful launch to date is the Apple iPhone 4. New OS and processor
The iPhone 4 is powered by the iOS 4, the most updated version of Apple's proprietary operating system. It is loaded with a wide variety of useful applications and features which includes increased multitasking performance.
From its Samsung-built ARM Cortex A8 CPU built into the previous iPhone 3GS, Apple has shifted to its very own 1 GHz A4 mobile processor. It's interesting to note that their chip is based on the ARM Cortex A8 processor as well.
The new Apple iPhone 4 is equipped with a GPS receiver with A-GPS support and a digital compass inside its sleek casing. It also includes a quad-band HSUPA chip, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1.
Display enhancement
The new iPhone 4 comes with dual built-in cameras - a 5 megapixel main camera with LED flash at the back and a second front-facing VGA snapper.
The iPhone 4 is also equipped with an integrated secondary microphone like the one on the Google Nexus One to cut out background noise during calls, an ambient light sensor, a gyroscope, an accelerometer and a proximity sensor.
The Apple iPhone 4 introduces the all-new Retina Display feature. Apple's new LED-backlit IPS screen has a high 960 x 640 resolution and contrast ratio of 800:1. This enhanced display provides four times more resolution than the earlier iPhone models. Whilst the touchscreen didn't get any bigger, more pixels per inch (ppi) was added as a trade-off - a whopping 326 ppi density!

Is there resale value in this old amplifier?
I have a Nakamichi receiver/amplifier, model TA-3A, that's about 23 years old - in excellent condition - which recently developed a typical problem where one channel drops volume, then comes back to normal, and does this for about 1/2 hour (which can make you crazy), then stabilizes. There are no other problems - even things I've seen documented.
It would cost about $375 to have it completely overhauled, but to me it's not worth it. I've already replaced it.
Does anyone know if a unit like this could be of value to someone else, like an electronics geek, someone who may want to fix it up, etc?
I figure I'd at least ask before I send it off to a landfill where the toxic metals in the circuits will pollute the earth.
If I were you, I would take it to a high end shop in your area and see what they will give you for it. Maybe you could trade it for a cable or something. They may be able to fix and resell it for a small profit.
I gave some high end Yamaha separates to a high-fi shop a few years back. They were happy to take them and I was happy to see the stuff go to a good home.
