Do You Need Oxygen?
As an intuitive healer I hear from clients that they wish to be more in balance, less stressed and that they want to participate more fully in their lives. I hear from clients that they feel pulled in many directions and do not feel as if they are fully present with their children. Women are amazing nurturers and yet they deny these gifts to themselves? I remind them about the oxygen mask on an airplane. If you don’t take care of your needs by putting on the oxygen mask on you first, you won’t be able to put it on anyone else. It is a simple concept and yet, myself included, we forget to do simple things for ourselves.
One of the techniques that I recommend to clients to help them oxygenate themselves is an Alignment Strategy. An Alignment Strategy is a program that only takes 15 minutes or less a day, which provides the opportunity for women to unconditional love themselves. For that is what being in Alignment is all about – unconditionally loving ourselves. Some of the benefits, is that you are more peaceful, stronger, more confidant and focused.
Just 15 minutes can help you feel better, participate more fully in your life and bring down your stress level. I work with clients to create their unique Alignment Strategy and afterwards they have a workbook with the Strategy, steps and actions to bring them into alignment and ways to maintain that alignment. I also assist clients in determining why and how they may become out of alignment though out the day and provide them with different strengthening methods to bring them back into Alignment and unconditional love for themselves. Imagine, having a program just for you and tailored to your needs and your place in your life.
Are you ready to consciously unconditionally love yourself?
Below are three elements of any Alignment Strategy so you can get started utilizing this powerful tool.
Meditation – Find a meditation that resonants with you. Meditation is all about listening and it doesn’t have to be long. If you never meditated, you can start by spending one minute focuses on your breath in the morning before you get out of bed.
Gratitude – Gratitude can take many forms. I recommend that you tune into the unconditional love of your heart to help you find the appropriate expression. You can express gratitude in prayer or by dancing around thanking the Universe, it is up to you.
Affirmations – Affirmations are a way to introduce a new thought patterns and belief systems. They are a way to release programming that is conditional in nature and to focus your thoughts on the positive. You are affirming what you consider positive and loving. We affirm beliefs and thoughts all day; some of them are conditional and not beneficial in nature (I’m so fat, My hair is awful, etc). Affirmations are statements in the present positive tense (My body is perfect and my hair is lovely). Use positive words and avoid words like NOT, ALWAYS, and FOREVER. You cannot write an affirmation for anyone else.
I suggest that you conduct these three elements in the morning and set aside at total of at least 7 minutes to do so. Keeping a journal and writing down your thoughts, emotions, and experiences of the day will illustrate how your Alignment Strategy is impacting your life.
One of the most common ways people become misaligned is by being empathic. It is important to understand what you are feeling and what others are feeling. You can process and release emotions that belong to you. Imagine you are going on a journey; before you leave you are going through your luggage to determine what you need to take and what is going to weigh you down. As you are going through the bags, you see a bag with someone else’s initials on it. You are going to have to give the bag back to that person, because how can you determine what this person needs on their journey? Carrying other’s emotions are like the piece of luggage that isn’t yours. So throughout the day, it is important that you determine what you are feeling and ask the question, “are these emotions mine?” If they are not, calmly set the intention that they return to their rightful owner.
Remember two important things: be patient with yourself and ask for assistance when you need it. Just adding these two intentions into your daily life will help you to stay more in unconditional love for yourself.

if the Oxygen mask dropped while you were on a plane, would you help your child first? ?
i know the safety announcement says to put your Oxygen mask on first before helping your child, and i know the reasoning behind it.
but i want to know how many PARENTS (or future parents) would actually help themselves first?
lets say you have one child can you please answer
YES I would help myself first ( so i can help my child)
or
NO i would help my child first (my child is more important than i am)
just a little discussion my shrink and i are having. i think i am right and if i am, i am going to ditch her.
I would put my mask on first so that I would be in a position to help my child. It would be stupid not to.
Your child won't die if they're without oxygen for a short time, but they may pass out and so could you if you take too long to get your mask on. If the adult puts their mask on first, they will be conscious and able to help their child with their mask and whatever else is necessary. Imagine how dreadful it would be for your child if her parent was unconscious and people were panicking all around or if something else terrifying was happening to the plane.
