Here are some more information for Oil Pump:

Maybe your idea of a sump pump is a dirty, smelly pit and the only time you really see it is when it fails and your basement or crawl space is full of water. Many times sump pumps are installed by do-it-yourself homeowners or contractors who are not full-time waterproofers. Either scenario can leave you with a pump that isn't as good as it could be.
Sump pumps are made so when water reaches a certain level, a lever is tripped which turns the pump on. It takes the water and moves it out of the basement or crawl space via a discharge line. This line goes outside the home and brings the water away from the house.
A common issue with sump pumps is that the water they carry comes from within the ground. So that means the water has dirt in it which can clog pipes and pumps over years of use. The worst part is, this could happen any time of the day, and odds are you won't be in your basement or crawl space to hear it or see it. That means it would stop working and water would back up into your home, potentially causing water damage.
This scenario can be avoided with two tools. Some sump pumps on the market have a secondary pump in the same basin - if the first pump does not turn on for any reason, the second one will kick on and start pumping water. Also, during periods of heavy rainfall, having a secondary pump gets water out of the basement at a faster rate.
Installing a sump pump alarm is another great idea because it alerts you when the water has risen past the point where the pump should have turned on. Most people don't spend much time in their unfinished basement or crawl space. So you wouldn't know you had water coming in from a failing sump pump until the next time you happened to enter that space.
A sump pump alarm sounds off telling you your basement or crawl space system needs to be checked. This is invaluable so you are aware of what's going on in your basement to avoid major water damage. An added benefit is that a sump pump alarm takes the stress off your shoulders - no more going into your basement at all hours of the day or night to check if the pump is working. The alarm will let you know if there's an issue.
Sump pumps are machines, right?
Cars are mechanical devices we use constantly - they're a collection of parts that work together to get us from point A to point B. The parts are made up of levers, screws, washers and other parts, which work hard. These parts in turn have lubricating oil and grease on them which eventually wear down. Most car owners bring their cars in for routine oil changes and maintenance. What this does is replace the screws, grease and other parts that get tired and wear down over time.
Like a car, a pump is also a mechanical device. It is made up of switches, propellers and pumps which can wear down with time and use. So the logical decision is to get the pump serviced each year, much like you might do with your car. Even though responsible waterproofing companies use high quality pumps which have special housings to keep the lubricant from ever breaking down and special designs to prevent any clogging, this yearly maintenance helps ensure that your sump pump works at full capacity when you need it most. And since you won't know when exactly that will happen, your best defense is a good offense. Simply put, yearly maintenance of your sump pump and waterproofing system can help avoid headaches down the road.
What can they do?
When your sump pump maintenance is performed, responsible waterproofing technicians will: check that valves work properly, look for potential problems, flood test the pump and interior drain system. This helps get any residual silt or sediment out of the system which may have washed in during a heavy rain, and detects any potential problems. Having maintenance performed regularly ensures your sump pump and waterproofing system work for you when you need it most. That's what you paid for in the basement waterproofing system, isn't it?
Excellent basement waterproofing contractors have a service department who can help you ensure your system maintenance is routinely scheduled each year. A good one should answer any questions and concerns you may have, while they're at your home performing the maintenance.
A reputable contractor will also look for potential problems before they arise. For a responsible Memphis basement waterproofer, contact Basement Redeemers today.

Mercedes Benz Oil Filter for Engine Protection
In 1923, one of the most helpful car parts was invented. This was the oil filter which was invented by Ernest Sweetland. Its name that time was Purolator which came from combining Pure Oil Later. This is the origin of the very oil filter that your Mercedes Benz car is using right now.
Before 1923, cars had to have oil changes so frequently that it became very expensive and inconvenient. They did this to prevent engine damage due to the oil contaminants. During these days, oil filters were mostly made of wire meshes or screens which were used in the oil pump intake. Although incorporated into the lubricating system after the oil pump and before the oil flowed into pressure lubricated bearings of the engine, these oil filters were still not that effective.
The main purpose of the Mercedes Benz oil filter is to “filter” as many particles and contaminants as it could from the oil to protect the engine from being damaged. Since every moving part of your engine needs lubrication, it is therefore a given that this requires clean oil for proper lubrication and lasting life. The Mercedes Benz oil filter does this and therefore prevents abrasive contaminants in the engine lubrication system from causing engine damage.
There are basically two-types of oil filters. These are the primary filter or the full-flow filter and the secondary filter or by-pass filter. Most engines used primary filters because in a normal operation, a hundred percent of the engine oil passes through them. However, the full-flow filer allows passage of smaller particles since it must work without the introduction of a lot of restrictions to prevent oil from flowing into the engine during cold start-ups. The secondary filter acts separately form the primary filter. Only ten percent of the engine oil passes through it.
The anti drain-back is considered as the most important to look for when it comes to oil filters nowadays. Its function is to prevent the oil from draining out of the filter inlet holes when the engine is shut off. This is also especially beneficial when the oil filter is mounted in a horizontal or inverted position since it also provides a seal between the clean and the dirty oil at the upper end cap.
The filter media are the materials used in screening the particles. They essentially determine the efficiency, performance and useful life of the oil filter. Nowadays, the most wide-used filter media are made of synthetic materials like fiber glass and metal fabrics. Old oil filters used wool, cotton and various fabrics like line. Others also used cellulose and paper.
The ideal Mercedes Benz oil filter must be very efficient in filtration by having a large dirt- holding capacity and a low initial restriction to oil flow.
It is highly recommended that you change your Mercedes Benz oil filter every 30, 000 miles to prevent particle build-up that could clog-up your engine. If not immediately prevented, this could cause further engine damage which can cost you five times the worth of an oil filter replacement.

can i rebuild my oil pump without remioving it?
i have a 92 f150 with a 5.0 and i see the oil pump kits at the auto parts store is it nessacary to remove the houseing from the engine block to put in thease parts?
no, to get to it, you need the oilpan off, the only way to get the oil pan off is to remove the oilpump.
Breakdown...
Take out all oil pan bolts, The oil pan will drop down, On that model, I also drop the transmission crossbar so I can lower the back of the motor which raises the front of the motor allowing more room to maneuver the oilpan. Now the kicker. You have to reach in and remove the oil pump bolts as the oil pump hangs down into the oilpan which makes it impossible to remove the oilpan. So you have to remove the oilpump bolts and drop it into the pan to be able to remove the pan.
When rebuilding the oil pump with the kit, follow the instrcutions completely!
I have built many a motor, Some say pack the oil pump with like stp, or cam lube, most prefer petroleum jelly, (yes, vaseline!) I do. Pack that pump full with it.
When you get it all reinstalled and goto start the motor, that petroleum jelly will create instant suction and start sucking oil from the first crank! stp and cam lube will drain off. You want instant suction.
be carefull as the distributor shaft that runs the oilpump will fall out when removing the pump. Thats where petroleum jelly comes in handy again. Pack it around that shaft and stick the shaft back up in its hole and throw everything back together!
