Here are some more information for Manual Slide Rule:

Today we're going to be discussing something near and dear to all of us, especially RV owners. How can you improve your fuel economy? The 99 cents a gallon days are long gone. We'll probably be lucky to see the $2.80 a gallon days again and depending on what part of the country you live in, you may be lucky to see the $2.30 a gallon days again. It took a while but as with everything else you eventually accept the fact that higher fuel prices are here to stay.
I for one am not going to let sky rocketing fuel prices change my plans for using and enjoying our RV. So, with that said and a motor home that averages 7 to 8 miles to a gallon I am forced to find ways to save on fuel rather than waiting and hoping that fuel prices will go down. After a little research, I was surprised to learn how easy it can be to improve our fuel economy. Whether you're towing a trailer or driving a motor home there are many ways to improve fuel economy. By performing some simple maintenance procedures and changing our driving habits a little we can save a significant amount of fuel.
One shocking discovery was that for each 5mph you go over 60mph is equivalent to paying 10 cents more per gallon. So if you're traveling down the Interstate at 75 mph add 30 cents to the price on the pump! Wow, that can add up quick. If fuel prices drop to $2.55 a gallon you'll still be paying $2.85 a gallon.
So how can we improve our fuel economy?
* Talk to other RVers that have a motor home or tow vehicle and trailer similar to yours. Compare gas mileage. If there is a significant difference compare notes and try to determine what makes the difference.
* Something as simple as a clean air filter can improve your fuel economy up to 10%.
* Checking and adjusting your tire pressure to the proper pressure can increase fuel economy by 3%, not to mention preventing premature tire wear and failures or blowouts caused by over or under-inflated tires. Tires can look normal when they are seriously under-inflated. Use a quality air pressure guage and check your tires when they're cold, before traveling more than one mile.
* Excessive idling wastes fuel. If you're going to be sitting still for more than a couple of minutes shut the engine off.
* Using overdrive whenever you can saves fuel by decreasing the engines speed.
* Using the cruise control whenever possible saves fuel because it keeps the vehicle at a constant speed rather than variable speeds. This applies when you are driving on a relatively flat surface. Keep in mind the over 60 mph rule applies here too.
* Keeping the vehicle tuned up and in top running condition saves fuel. A poorly tuned engine can lower fuel economy by 10 to 20%.
* Poor emissions and / or a faulty oxygen sensor can cause a 40% reduction in fuel economy. Can you believe that? A 40% REDUCTION.
* Following the recommended service and maintenance schedules will save you fuel.
* Using the recommended grade of motor oil will increase fuel economy by 1 to 2%.
* Using synthetic oils will increase fuel economy by 2 or more percent.
* Speeding and rapid acceleration reduces fuel economy anywhere from 5 to 33% depending on your individual driving habits.
* Added weight that you don't need reduces fuel economy significantly. We're all guilty of this one!
* Only using the dash air conditioner when it is absolutely necessary will save a significant amount of fuel.
* Use regular gas unless your owner's manual specifies a higher octane gas. You're just throwing money away when you pay the extra money for premium fuel.
Do you know how many miles you get to a gallon of gas? Here's how to find out. Fill the fuel tank and write down the odometer reading. The next time you stop for gas fill the tank again. Now divide the miles you traveled between fill ups by the amount of gas you bought the second time you filled up. This is how many miles you are getting to a gallon of gas. We may have no control over the prices at the pump, but as you can see we have total control over getting the most out of the fuel we put in our tank.
Happy Camping,

Swing Set Safety For Safe Play On Wooden Swing Sets
Swing Set Safety For Safe Play On Wooden Swing Sets
Swing set safety is top priority, it is very important to pull out the owner's manual and review with the children the rules. Children need to understand the rules so everyone can play safe. As we talk about the safety rules it is equally important to remember that children need to be supervised by an adult at all times. Teach children to use the swing set equipment in the intended manner. Restrict children from twisting swing chains or ropes since this may reduce the strength of these items. Talk about swing set safety with your children and their friends. Parents and caregivers need to make sure Kids are dressed appropriately when they go to play on the swing set. For example, Kids should wear well fitting clothing, shoes, avoid capes, ponchos, clothing with hanging ties, and any type of neck scarves, dress up boas or any clothing that is loose fitting, which may be potentially hazardous while using the swing set. Parents should also prevent children from climbing on swing sets when wet or in adverse weather conditions. Be sure to check your owners manual for important swing set safety guidelines.
How To Use A Swing On A Wooden Swing Set Or Metal Swing Set
When Kids are swinging on a wooden swing set they should be understand the safety rules. This includes only one child per swing seat. Teach children to sit in the center of swing, with their full weight on seat. Children should NOT twist swing chain, or loop them over the top support bar since this may reduce the strength of the chain. Reinforce this rule, DO NOT swing empty seats (swings or gliders) and remind everyone, DO NOT walk close to, in front of, behind, or between moving swing sets or children sliding. These guidelines are for metal swing sets and wooden swing sets.
Monkey Bars On Swing Sets And Top Ladder For Swing Sets
Monkey Bar Safety Reminders - Children should NOT use the monkey bars on the top ladder when swings and/or trapeze bars are being used. Swing accessories should be removed before using the monkey bars. Monkey bars are not intended for children under seven years old. Do not allow children under age 7 to use monkey bars unless supported by an adult. Children should NOT be on the top surface of the top ladder. Remember, adult supervision is required at all times for children of all ages.
Why is ground cover important?
Here are some helpful reminders to keep in mind to prevent accidents. Use a shock absorbing material underneath and around the swing set. Refer to your owner's manual for guidelines and depth of ground cover. Rubber mulch is a wonderful product to use as ground cover underneath a playset. Remember, a 6 foot safe play zone should be around the entire swing set. Children should never swing an empty swing or walk in front or behind swing that are occupied. Rubber Mulch is also good for our environment, as it helps keep old tires out of landfills.
Metal Swing Sets And Wood Swing Sets Maintenance
Swing Sets should be inspected on a regular basis (twice monthly during the season) by parents. If any of the following conditions are noted they should be removed, corrected or repaired immediately to prevent injuries and do not use the swing set until all maintenance is complete. Check for the following.
1. Hardware that is loose, worn or that has protrusions or projections
2. Exposed equipment footings
3. Scattered debris, litter, rocks, or tree roots
4. Rust and chipped paint on metal components
5. Splinters, large crack, and decayed wood components.
6. Deterioration and corrosion on structural components, which connect to the ground
7. Missing or damaged equipment components, such as handholds, guardrails, swing seats, etc.

Slide rule math question?
I have a new Citizen Skyhawk watch with a slide rule bezel on it and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of videos on how to use the bezel for everyday equations. I read the manual and understand a few of the ways but there are so many functions possible. I want to learn as much about it as possible without having to refer to the manual every ten minutes.
I wanted to see if there is a pattern to the outside / inside of the slide. I understand it is a logarithm but I want to see it in action a few times. So if you know where these type videos would be please let me know as youtube does not have them. Thank you. Best video gets best answer.
And please dont post a useless answer like katy below. The USAF uses slide rules in the flight deck of aircraft. She obviously has not been to a watch store lately....or atleast in a few decades. My question is on where to find videos not an opinion on them.
Try your local math lab at your University, There should always be someone there that will be more than happy to help you with it.
