Help me fix my toilet - the screw/bolt broke off the handle attachment.?
The plastic connector which attaches the flush handle to the other mechanism cracked and broke, with the plastic screw still stuck inside both the handle and connector. All I need to do is get the broken screw/bolt out of the handle and the connector and replace it. But how? I don't want to make it worse. Thanks for you help!
if i understand this, what you are saying is that the handle broke, right? the handle that you flush with is one piece, the piece on the outside ( the lever that you normally see, and push down on) and the piece on the inside, ( usually a plastic arm with a chain attached, on the inside of the tank, that connects to a rubber plunger).. if I understand you correctly, its a simple fix. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and tell them that you need a lever, chain, and plunger for your toilet. It usually comes as a kit, just replace all three and it should work like new. Its less than five bucks.
* make sure that you are in the plumbing dept when you ask for help. The nut attaches to the back of the lever to keep it in place and secure. good luck
