Here are some more information for Graphic Flight:

Along with Windows 7 to ship this October, Microsoft will officially launch its latest version of DirectX as well. Not only developed for Windows 7, DirectX 11 can also be used by Vista users with Service Pack 2 installed. DirectX 11 is claimed to bring lots of benefits and new features named Direct Compute (GPGPU) and Tesselation. But unfortunately for XP users, DirectX 11 will not be supported on this old yet popular OS anymore.
To fully utilize all of this latest DirectX functions, you need to own a DirectX 11 based graphic card. AMD becomes the first vendor to introduce its new line up Radeon 5800 series. nVIDIA will be a bit late this time, it's reported nVIDIA is not ready yet to offer its GT300 series till first quarter in 2010. For you that still use DirectX 10 or 10.1 cards, you can still reap some benefits from DirectX 11 since it's backward compatible with older version. But.. the question: Is really DirectX 11 worth waiting for or is it just another marketing hype?
There are 2 main features promised by DirectX 11:
1. Tesselation
- It enables games developers to create smoother, less blocky and more organic looking objects in games. As most anticipated feature, it promises to create natural objects without sacrificing gaming performance.
2. Direct Compute (GPGPU)
- It allows games programmers to treat the GPU in a much less graphics-oriented way; indeed, they can almost treat it like a highly parallel CPU. By using this feature, GPU will be used more frequently to run tasks faster than CPU is capable of. So, your GPU will be not used solely for gaming purpose only.
Since DirectX 11 is very new, there is still no game available to prove above theories at this time. But, unlike DirectX 10 which got very slow adoption, DirectX 11 have faster supported titles to benefit this latest technology like: Dirt 2, Stalker: Call of Pripyat, BattleForge, Alien vs Predator, Crysis 2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 etc.
Stalker: COP has even presented its first images comparison between DirectX 11 vs DirectX 10.
So, answering the question regarding worthy or not to upgrade to DirectX 11 graphic card, the answer would be: Depends. In my opinion, if you already got Radeon 4800 series or nVIDIA GT200 series, you might just stick to your current card and wait till DirectX 11 becomes standard for most PC games developers. For information, most current games are multi-platform ones and still developed using old DirectX 9.0 c. Yep... that popular X360 and PS3 still use DirectX 9 rendering.
Besides that, these Radeon 4000 and nVIDIA GT200 series are still powerful enough to run all of the hottest games out there. It'd be better to wait for the second generation of DirectX 11 cards and price becomes more stable. Or you can delay your purchase at current time and see what competitor (nVIDIA) offers later.
But if you have an old card and already struggle to run new games, I'd suggest a new DirectX 11 card as your best bet since it's more future proof and already includes all of the latest technologies used at least 3 to 4 years from now.

Flight Sim Games - Flight Simulator Games
Afraid to fly? No problem. Microsoft's Flight Simulator, one of the oldest simulation games around, will take you flying anywhere in the world in just about any type of plane you can think of.
The year was 1982 when the first flight simulator came out. It was version 1.0. Graphically, it was quite simple, but it did give the user a chance to fly a real plane. In the early editions they used vector graphics, so the view from the cockpit was pretty much left to your imagination.

As the game progressed, however, the graphics became more real. If you took a plane ride over New York, you would see a skyline that was letter perfect to what you would actually see if you were flying over New York in a real plane. But the transition from version 1.0 to Flight Simulator 2002 was a slow and gradual one.
In version 2.0 they finally added duel support for both a mouse and a joystick. Version 1.0 was mouse only. Plus, the simulator became more popular and versions were released on a number of game platforms.
It wasn't until version 3.0 that the flight simulator went to Windows. This was in 1988. The game featured the first multiple windows that you could resize. It also featured 3D windows and panels.
In 1989, Flight Simulator came out with version 4.0. There wasn't a huge difference between this version and 3.0 but the scenery was more detailed. The bridges, roads and buildings looked a lot better than in the earlier version. This version also created a demand for add-on products to the game by outside vendors.
In 1993, they came out with version 5.0. More than 30,000 hours of development went into this version and it showed. It was the first game with photorealistic scenery and a map of the whole world. You could travel from New York to Paris in real time. This was a major breakthrough in the history of the game. With 5.1, the ability to handle scenic libraries was added. Also, weather was added to the game such as storms. This was done in 1995.
Windows 95, which came out in 1996, was the first game in the series available for that windows platform. More planes were added, such as the Boeing 737. Photorealistic satellite imaging was added to this version as well. Plus, flying lessons were added so you could be flying in a matter of minutes. It was the easier simulator to date.
Flight Simulator 98 added 10 times the number of airports than in the previous version so you could take off from virtually anywhere in the world. More planes were added and the graphics became even more realistic. It didn't seem like the game could get any better.
But then Flight Simulator 2000 came out. Four new planes were added. Thousands more airports were added. Navigation was greatly improved. Graphics were improved. The control panels were more detailed. Just trying to figure out the controls for a Boeing 777 was a challenge. Yes, 2000 was even better than 98.
But they didn't stop there. Flight Simulator 2002 was to be the best yet. The working instruments were more lifelike. Buildings became so lifelike that it was scary. New planes were added, including the first float plane. Real time interactive air traffic control was added.
If you haven't had the pleasure of trying Flight Simulator, now may be the best time of all.

How to Use a Graphic Flight Computer to Find Ground Speed and True Heading?
An E-6B manual flight computer is waterproof, shock-resistant and doesn't require batteries, making it an ideal tool for pilots while flying. This nifty contraption has both a computer and wind side. The computer side is a circular slide rule that can perform multiplication and division problems to find time, speed & distance, fuel consumption, true airspeed, and density altitude. The wind side uses a rotating disc, called the azimuth plate, marked with 360 degree compass headings, and a sliding grid with speed and angle markings to find wind correction angle, ground speed, true heading, and most favorable winds. This article tells how to use the wind side to find ground speed and true heading. You must know the wind speed & direction, true course, and true airspeed.
Steps
1. Align the wind direction under the "True Index" mark by rotating the azimuth plate. If the winds are from 330° at 20 knots, align 330 under the true index.
2. Align the grid so the center grommet is over one of the heavy lines. It doesn't matter which line is used at this point.
3.
Plot the wind speed and direction

Plot the wind speed and direction
Mark the wind speed by counting up from the center grommet. Each light line represents two knots. Mark a dot or an X in pencil on the 20 knot line (two heavy lines above the center grommet). This is the wind dot.
4. Rotate the azimuth plate until your desired course (true course) is aligned under the True Index mark. Use 175° for this example.
5. Slide the grid until the wind dot is over your true airspeed. In this example, the true airspeed is 120 knots.
6.
Read ground speed and wind correction angle
Read ground speed and wind correction angle
Read ground speed under the grommet. Ground speed is the speed of the aircraft over the ground and in this example is 138 knots.
7. Find the wind correction angle (WCA) by checking the number of degrees to the right or left between the center grommet and the wind dot. If the wind dot is to the right, the WCA is positive. If it is to the left, the WCA is negative. In the example, the wind correction angle is +4°.
8. Add or subtract the wind correction angle from the true course to find true heading. Adding 4° to 175 equals 179° for the true heading.
9. Add (or subtract) magnetic variation and compass deviation to find the compass heading to be flown. The variation is the difference between true north and magnetic north and can be found on a VFR or IFR chart. Easterly variations are subtracted and westerly variations are added. Compass deviation is printed on a placard under the magnetic compass in the airplane.
Tips
* If you know ground speed between checkpoints and the wind correction angle, the process can be followed backwards to find actual wind speed and direction while flying.
* If the wind dot is below the grommet, you have a tailwind; if it is above the grommet, you have a headwind.
* Electronic flight computers can also provide this information but require batteries which could fail during a flight.
Things You'll Need
* E-6B graphic flight computer.
* Pencil.
