The NUVI 3700 GPS also features an "accelerometer", which allows it to be used in portrait or landscape orientation. The NUVI 3700 returns to Garmin's "active mount" suction cup technology with the added benefit of a secondary speaker on the mount, making it louder and clearer for voice navigation.
The elegant new design is compelling, but without compelling features the NUVI 3700 won't make the cut. Fortunately, Garmin matches the elegant design with an impressive suite of features. Two new features called Traffic Trends and My Trends make the 3700 a very powerful, easy-to-use device. Traffic Trends is Garmin's response to TomTom's IQ Routes, with the intention of providing efficient routing and accurate arrival times. Traffic Trends uses historical traffic data which is loaded into the system. This data shows that certain roads are free and clear at 3:30 in the afternoon, but come to a stop at 4:30. We haven't tested this new system, but we assume it will continue to continue to "learn" and improve as time goes on.
The GARMIN NUVI 3790T also includes 3D terrain and 3D buildings, which is the new trend in newer, flagship GPS systems. The NUVI 3790T has the power, performance and graphics to deliver this capability in an impressive fashion. Whether you're traveling country roads, mountainous regions or the urban jungle, you get an impressively detailed topography to prepare you for what lies ahead.

Beautiful, sleek, professional design. Excellent features and performance. If you want a top-of-the-line, high performance GPS system that will turn heads, the GARMIN NUVI 3790T is the product for you. If you don't need something quite this impressive and you have to live on one of those nasty budgets, there are plenty of lower cost alternatives.

Let's face it, most of us don't need more than what a $150 GPS device offers. However, the NUVI 3790T (as well as other flagship models) definitely offer some features that add tremendous value for their ease-of-use and SAFETY-during-use. The safety of voice navigation alone should be worth the extra cost of a flagship model. If you can afford a model with it today, buy it. If not, choose the best combination of features you need at the price you can afford. If you stick with the best-selling brands (Garmin, Megellan, TomTom and a few others) you really can't go wrong.
