What would a Mooney m20j 201 be if it was a car?
My Dad in the 70's bought a 1977. My Mom did not like the plane so they bought a 1979 cessna 206. I was just wondering if the 201 was a car what it would be? My mom use to race Porsche 911's and 912's so I would say a Porsche. What would other people say?
Well, I've got about 150+ hours in Mooneys, mostly in a 1984 M20J M201, and I've got many times that number of hours in jets. From that perspective, I'd be hard pressed to describe the 201 as either a Porsche or a Ferrari. Sports car, yes, but a more modest one. Maybe an older 280Z or so.Or an older RX-7. It's not really that fast once you get used to it and once you've flown faster planes. It's really the relatively low horsepower and hence fuel flow that is the selling point.

Two airlines have bid to offer government-subsidized air service at the Joplin Regional Airport. American Eagle, a regional carrier for American Airlines, which last week asked the U.S. Department of Transportation for an extension on the bid deadline, has filed a bid to offer two flights a day to and from Dallas.
