Here are some more information for Air Oil:

Our shop does quite a bit of automotive air conditioning service and repair. We feel that we see too many AC systems not working efficiently or having catastrophic failures. We have been performing automotive air conditioning service and repairs since the mid 1980s and have found more frequent failures with the introduction of R134a refrigerant. It was not widely known then that even a 10% undercharge would promote damage to the AC system. We discussed this while attending the regular Mobile Air Conditioning Society shows and seminars. R134a was difficult to contain when first introduced. When we ask why there is so many failures now, the biggest answer is lack of regular service or maintenance. Unfortunately when there is no listed scheduled service interval in the owner handbook or listed on 30,60,90k services, the AC maintenance is neglected.
Most drivers assume that if they are kept cool while driving that the AC system is working properly. And it may be. However, we often find the system is low on refrigerant charge. This is not good. First, the system may not be cooling as well as it should be. People get used to a gradually warmer temperatures until it becomes too warm. Or on a real hot day the air conditioning may not cool at all. The vehicle is then brought in, checked out and low refrigerant charge may be found and corrected. Second is the problem that a low charge does not carry lubricating oil properly to the air conditioning compressor. This is bad! Just like the engine, when it is run low on oil damage occurs. Either case may be a slow gradual death. And like engine repair, AC repair can get expensive quickly when major damage occurs.
No, you do not change the oil in an AC system like you do in your engine, but loss of oil can be corrected. During a service where the refrigerant was found to be low, usually oil leaked out also. When the air conditioning system is properly recharged, specific oil is added to make up for the loss. All automotive air conditioning shops must carry a wide variety of air conditioning oils as each system is designed for a specific type and weight of oil.
An automotive AC service performed correctly should always include a full check out. Are all the blower speeds working correctly? Does the air distribution function direct the air properly? Does the heater work? Does the rear air conditioning work normally if equipped? All these areas must be addressed for a full evaluation of the automobiles' air conditioning system. Most of the above functions are electronically controlled on newer vehicles. When any of them are not working correctly as they should, electrical work is required to diagnose and repair the problem.
Do yourself a favor and have your automotive AC system serviced on a routine basis. We recommend at least every 18 months to be on the safe side and to help avoid a big expense. Maintenance pays for itself by providing better cooling as well as one way to avoid premature compressor failure.

in the late 1970's we saw a need for advanced and continued training in evolving automotive systems. At that time Francisco Fonseca, the owner, took the necessary classes in air conditioning and electrical repair at Golden West College. Since then, he and his technicians have attended continuing automotive classes and seminars to stay current on today's automotive technology.
Francisco's Automotive has been reliably servicing and repairing vehicles for over 20 years for the areas of Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Westminster, Irvine and Seal Beach. Domestic and Asian vehicles are our main focus along with selected European lines. We are a full service auto repair shop handling all your automotive needs.
What You Need To Know About Compressed Air Systems
Compressed air is used in many operations and processes and as a source of energy for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) and process actuators and motors. It may also be supplied for low pressure systems and used for pneumatic control. Air can be compressed in several different ways and supplied at varying pressures and degrees of filtration depending on its use.
A typical compressed air system is capable of producing instrument quality air for pneumatic HVAC controls, tools, conveying systems, and general plant air. The system consists of a single motor driven single stage rotary screw compressor with inlet air filter, a safety relief valve, aftercooler, air/oil separator, air receiver with safety relief valve, prefilter, air dryer, afterfilter, oil/water traps, and oil/water separator.
Compressors are most often supplied skid mounted as a packaged unit.Theassembled package includes all major components, controls, and a sound attenuation enclosure. The unit only requires mounting to a foundation, hook up to system piping, connection to the oil water separator, and power connection.
There are various types of compressors: Rotary helical screw air compressors are positive displacement machines. Atwin-screw compressor consists of accurately matched rotors [one lobe (male) and one helix (female)] that mesh closely when rotating within a close tolerance common housing. One rotor is motor driven while the other is gear driven, turning it in a counter-rotating motion.
The rotors uncover inlet posts at one end allowing air to flow in. As the rotors continue to rotate the air is compressed by the minishing volume between the rotors . At the end of the rotors, ports allow the now compressed air to exit. One or more stages may be used.
These compressors are used in systems up to 3000 cubic feet per minute (cfm). They are usually oil injected to increase sealing, lubricate rotors, and provide cooling. They can also be oil free. One or two stages can be used. They have
a low initial cost, no pulsation, are almost free of vibration, and do not require special foundations.
Centrifugal compressors compress air as it enters the center of a fluted casting, housing a rotating impeller. The impeller imparts kinetic energy to the gas which turns into potential energy as the gas velocity slows, thus increasing pressure. Compression is a continuous process. One or more stages may be used.
Centrifugal compressors are used in large systems up to 15,000 cfm. A blow-off silencer is needed to control noise. Centrifugal compressors require no ubrication in contact with the air stream and therefore provide oil free air.
Reciprocating or positive displacement compressors use a piston in a cylinder to compress air up to a capacity of 6,000 cfm . Air enters the cylinder through a valve when the piston is going down. The valve closes when the piston starts to go up. As the piston approaches the top ofthe cylinder, the air is compressed by the decreasing volume. An exhaust valve opens when the piston is near the top of the cylinder allowing the compressed air to exit. The cycle is them repeated.
Rotary sliding vane compressors use a rotor eccentrically mounted in a cylinder. The rotor has eight or more slots cut along its length .Vanes are placed in the slots. As the rotor rotates, the vanes move out from centrifugal force. As the rotor continues through a rotation, the rotor housing causes the vanes to move back in the slot ofthe rotor.
The volume of air between the housing, eccentrically mounted rotor, and two vanes changes as the rotor rotates, compressing the air.

How do air & oil filters get tested for quality?
There are tons of air & oil filter brands that all brag about how much better they are than the compertition. Some cost more but are they any better? How can a guy know which is better?
Everybody claims to have the best. Yes some are good others are no better than filtering through a dirty old sock. The only way to get to the trueth is review the results from an independant labs tests. Look for the micron's that it filters down to. You will be shocked as one of the least advertised as being the best is one of the best and there price is no higher than most. I can't give you names as I would end up on the inside looking out.
