The Russian Air Force Diet is the name of an eating plan which was supposedly used by the Russian Army. Whether this is true or not is difficult to tell as this diet has no official author, book, or manual. It is just a 7 day eating plan which constitutes the following:
- Day 1
- Breakfast - Coffee
- Lunch - 2 eggs and 1 tomato
- Dinner - 7 ounces red meat + green salad
- Day 2
- Breakfast - Coffee and toast or water cracker
- Lunch - 7 ounces red meat + green salad
- Dinner - 5 ounces of ham and 1 cup of yoghurt
- Day 3
- Breakfast - coffee and toast or water cracker
- Lunch - Green salad and 1 tomato and 1 orange
- Dinner - 3 ounces of ham, fruit salad, 2 eggs
- Day 4
- Breakfast - Coffee and toast or water cracker
- Lunch - 5 ounces gruyer cheese, 1 egg, 1 carrot
- Dinner - Fruit salad and 1 cup of yoghurt
- Day 5
- Breakfast - 5 ounces ham and 1 cup carrots
- Lunch - 7 ounces broiled fish and 1 tomato
- Dinner - 8 ounces of red meat
- Day 6
- Breakfast - Coffee and toast or water cracker
- Lunch - 1/4 chicken based and 1 orange
- Dinner - 2 eggs and 1 raw carrot
- Day 7
- Breakfast - Coffee and toast or water cracker
- Lunch - 7 ounces red meat and 1 orange
- Dinner - Anything you weant up to 500 calories
This 7 day menu can be repeated over and over again until all the weight loss has been achieved. In addition you should drink at least 4 glasses of water each day. You can add the following condiments to your meals:
- salt
- pepper
- lemon
- vinegar
- Worcestershire
- soy sauce
- mustard & ketchup
As you can see, this is a very low calorie diet and can be quite extreme. Therefore, you require a lot of will power to stick to it for a long time. It can yield a fast weight loss. However, because it is so low in calories it can lead to metabolism slowdown and long term weight gain. It also does little to give exercise guidelines of any sort.
The Russian Air Force diet is therefore only for you if you wish to lose weight very fast, but are aware that you will need to work extra hard to keep off this weight into the future.

How is the United States Air Force Academy place among the other four Military Academies?
If possible, can you rank the 5 military Academies in order? I just got accepted to the Air Force Prep School and am wondering what types of people that graduate from the Prep School doesn't get accepted the the Air Force Academy.
First, to qualify my answer: I am a graduate of USAFA and worked at USNA shortly after commissioning (I cross-commissioned to the Navy because I could not fly). I also applied and lived near West Point and Kings Point growing up so I saw them both close up repeatedly. I have never been to the Coast Guard Academy and was not interested in attending. I would rate the academies as such:
1. USAFA – better well-rounded education. All courses are 3-credits, you do not get additional credit hours for classes with labs so you have to complete a heavier course load to graduate. They also have a wider variety of majors than the others. The athletic facilities are far superior than the other academies and Colorado has some great scenery. However, in terms of military culture - I generally disliked Air Force culture and much preferred working with the Army, Navy and Marines.
2. USMA – strong sense of history and pride in their school. The location in NY gets very cold and depressing in the winter and there is nothing to do in the area. Engineering education there is excellent.
3. USNA – also a strong sense of pride in their school. The facilities are in poor condition and there is no additional space to expand since Annapolis is right outside the gate. That is a major benefit though, being close to a major city. However, it is also close to D.C. and that means too much publicity when bad things happen.
4. USCGA – smaller than the other 4 and focused on commissioning USCG officers. Their athletics program is inferior in the sense they do not recruit athletes and do not compete on a level with the previous three academies.
5. USMMA – the forgotten military academy. This school gives an excellent practical education in becoming a licensed mariner. Kings Point competes more directly with the state maritime academies in New York, Massachusetts, Maine, etc. It is actually right across from SUNY Maritime at Fort Schuyler. MMA graduates serving in the Navy and Coast Guard tend to do very well in ship handling and other nautical skills.
